I is for IGUANAThe green iguana or common iguana (Iguana iguana) is a large, arboreal herbivorous species of lizards of the genus Iguana native to Central and South America. The green iguana ranges over a large geographic area, from southern Brazil and Paraguay to as far north as Mexico and the Caribbean Island , and in the United States as feral populations in South Florida ( including the Florida Keys) Hawaii and the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
A herbivore , it has adapted significantly with regard to locomotion and osmoregulation as a result of its diet. It grows to 1.5 metres (4.9 ft) in length from head to tail, although a few specimens have grown more than 2 metres (6.6 ft) with bodyweights upward of 20 pounds (9.1 kg).
These animals can be found at the Singapore Zoo.

It looks like a cute little crocodile, dressed in a knitted green sweater, lol !
Looks scary to me..there're the small versions that climb on wayside trees too. those are called iguanas too I think.
Did he tell you that you are the second person to take his photo?
I was there in July. But haven't posted it, so you beat me to it.
Cheers,
Ann:)
went to a Pakistan butcher yesterday, he had a sig, closed at 5 pm during Ramadan, and 12 noon on Friday. I like his meat, I get lamb shanks. Yesterday I bought T bone steak.
Sorry, may be I should talk about food when your are fasting.
Colourful creatures captured by your camera. Colossal!
Iguanas are so cool!

Great photo. The skin on that lizard looks like you could just unzpip it and take it off. He's a hefty little thing at 20 lbs. I personally, think he looks kind of scary but your photo is magnificent.
This lizard is a very remarkable fellow! Very interesting animal! Thank you for this informative post! Thanks for your visit too!
I had no idea the US had feral populations of iguana! How interesting!
If it weren't for the Internet I probably would have never seen an iguana.!
It is the Night of the Iguana.
I think the claws make him seem more fearsome than he is.

Sunday Meme from Sarah Lulu
I've been trying this morning to catch up on my blogbrowsing and Sarah Lulu had an intriguing meme...so what the heck. Here's the meme:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.
Great photos! I've always like iguanas!
Great shot, Jama! This fellow looks so good on camera. But I would take my distance in real life ;). Have a wonderful day. It will be Eid Mubarak in a few days. I hope you'll have a wonderful time. Taqabalallahu minna wa minkum :)
Wow, the lizard is so cute.
