Macro Monday: Red Dragonfly



 
This was taken just yesterday, during my walk to the nearby park with my younger son. I wanted to take photos of the lotuses in the pond and got this as a bonus.

I saw your comment on Thomas's page with the meadowhawk photos. This is a lovely photo with some much color and detail, great job. I don't know squat about Singapore dragonflies, but would say this is a pennant (Celithemis) species and not a meadowhawk (Sympetrum) species. That is if they use these names for families in Singapore.
