Friday My Town Shoot Out: Aquarium

This week's theme is a little bit difficult as I don't have may photos on aquariums. A visit to the only Underwater World in Sentosa Island didn't materialize due to time constrain plus the entrance fees was quiet expensive, so I settled on the few I have in my archives plus a short trip to the ornament fish shop for a quick and secret shot as the shop do not allow photography.

Small aquarium at the Jurong Bird Park.

Don't ask me what kind of fish these are, I really have no idea.

Crayfish, or crawfish, colloquially called crawdad, a freshwater crustacean related to the lobster.
They sure look angry, maybe they are giving me a warning: NO PHOTOGRAPHY! LOL

They are too cute to be kept as pets at home , but on a dinner plate would be better alternative to me. But I need to flatten it up a bit. lol
I was a beach last week and my niece found several  starfishes  during low tide and took it back for me to be photographed. She purposely  dig out this little water hole to put the starfishes while I get busy. Once I'm done, she released them back in the ocean. This can still consider as an aquarium, right? a natural aquarium.....and if you look carefully, you'll see some life seashells near the starfish.

Every time I see a live crayfish I wonder why I love to eat them so much, they look so evil! I think your starfish shot is one of the loveliest I've seen looking through the blogs this week! It's stunning!

Those crawdads are really colorful - here they are a brownish green, hence their nickname of mud bug.

Nice shootout, Jama. I like it when the theme is not too easy sometimes!

The brilliant red crawfish crayfish lobstery thingies are fantastic. I often wonder at the first person to discover that lobsters were edible. That person must have been mighty hungry.

Jama,
in 1990, when we arrived in sinagpore, at Wisma Atria, they had a big aquariu, Sometimes, the "cleaner" in wet suit would clean the fish. I enjoyed it. But in 2009, I went back to Singapore, it was gone. Do you remember seeing it.

Also, i went with the nature soceity to protest the filling in of the Chek Jawa at Pulau Ubin. Do you know if it is still there. Did you take the photo of the star fish at Chek Jawa?

love the photos of the crawfish - this is a favorite meal for the southern USA - people go to crawfish boil and eat dozens of them in one sitting - too bad I'm allergic to them.... I was taking a photo in the new bus station a few weeks ago and was told by the guard 'no photo' - I answered him in English - ' what don't understand' he looked all frustrated and turned and left... don't understand these no photos rules... a bus station???? - except in an art gallery the flash can ruin and old painting - but really!
