Friday My Town Shoot Out : Country Roads

Country roads, now that's something very difficult to find here , as the whole island is almost a town, even roads away from the town centre look so modern , organized and well paved, nothing country about them. Not quiet or deserted at all, nothing like the typical country roads in other countries.

This is the closest we get to a country road, as the area there have several small modern farms, some using the hydroponic farming method due to lack of land and the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. A public bus runs every 15 minutes on Sundays and stop right infront of the wetland, on weekedays one have to walk about 10 minutes away from the nearest bus stop to this entrance.
Ok, this is not exactly a road, a walking trail actually, inside the wetland area but park rangers use buggies to go around this trail so can be considered as a road, right?
The modern buggies  waiting for the park rangers in the wetland area.
Henderson Road, taken from a pedestrian bridge across the road, which link the two small hills.

This is really a country road, away from Singapore in our neighboring country of Malaysia. I was on my way to a wedding of a friend in her little village . Lots of winding roads with palm trees on both sides or mountains can be seen. Something we can never find here in our little island.

A dirt road leading to a small village in Johore, Malaysia. I saw a few cows there, but they gave away when a car pass by.

These are beautiful pictures. I like your country roads even if they aren't really country roads.

Not sure I could live without my country lanes but at least you get to see them in Malaysia. And the walking trail would help to make up for it. Thanks for the shots.

Wow, really amazing shots! I really like the first photo, the way you captured the curvy road and everything else.

Everything really looks so clean. Really good infrastructure.

We probably got lots of them here in the Philippines but I'm in the capital so it's hard to fine Country Roads!

Jama,

I used to go along Jln Bahar and buy organic vegetables, forgot the name, but it is opposite the Khoon Li garden Centre. I don't mean the more famous Ivy Singh Lim's place.

I wish Philippines is like Singapore where all the roads are paved. People had a hard time bringing all their produce to the town because of the unpaved roads. Happy weekend!

I so love learning about your land and especially like the walking lane. I have done just a walking road since it was raining for days this week. Great job.

Thank you for posting these photos, I have never been outside the country except for a few trips to Canada and just to see a glimpse of where you live is wonderful, breath taking.

Oh Jama I want to get in one of those carts and take off with you down that path! We can sing together, and I will learn country roads in your language! Love it!
