Friday My Town Shoot Out: Honoring Trees

Trees provide shade

Trees provide flowers

Coconut trees along a beach

 Palm trees in town

Trees that provide us with fruits, Mango. Just behind my apartment block.

 Papaya tree.

Bottletree, namely for the unique bottle-shaped trunk.

Trees are everywhere, even along major roads.

A 30 year old Angsana Tree in my neighbourhood.

We need the trees, because importantly they release oxygen during photosynthesis !  Sunlight, water and carbon dioxide are taken in by the green trees during the process.

What memories I have at the sight of a mango tree! Eating a mango with the juice dripping down my chin.

And isn't the bark on that angsane tree fantastic?

I love the lush beauty of your trees!

Jama,

I like your selection of trees, very closeup and sharp.

If you ever need some Neem leaves go up to Nanyang View in NTU, and looks for two trees. if anyone asks you, tell them I told you to get them. I grew the tree. The Malay gardeners know they are good trees, so they don't chop it odwn.

I love all your trees! Pretty.

I never thought Singapore has that lot of trees. Singapore gives me an impression of a concrete jungle, much like KL.

I loved the trees, but what struck me were the leaves. We are in the very earliest stages of spring with just the promise of leaves. The greenery in your photos was spectacular and the promise of what awaits us in a few weeks time.

I love seeing the fruit trees. I rarely see fruit in its natural habitat...only the super market.

Lovely tour of trees near where you live. My mom used to live in South Florida and many of your trees grew there. I loved the mangoes she grew!

I could move there just for the climate and the trees. Great job for today's theme. Beautiful shots.

Imagine, a friend once told me to walk up to trees and pull fruit directly down and peel it, then eat it!

Love your trees, and the coconut trees on the beach, I can only imagine myself lying on a towel sipping on a tropical fruit drink!

Wonderful trees, Jama. I never imagined papayas got so big. They're huge! In the markets (around here) they're never like that.

Ah, to be able to walk outside and pick a ripe mango!!! Your trees are so very beautiful, Jama! I hope one day you'll do another post on the last tree by itself. So unusual looking!

a great combination of trees, and ones that are familiar to me here in Brasil. Mangos and papaya come in so many variations - and for us mainly to the north closer to the Amazon. but I have seen them. we also have in the forest avocado trees, persimmons and cashews.

I'd never heard of the Bottle Tree before, I'll have to read more about it.
