" EMPS #95: Organic Food
I found these lovely organically grown purple yams last year, and they inspired me not only with my cooking, but with my photography! This week, let's take a look at ORGANIC FOODS. Fresh would be wonderful, but canned works well too. It's up to you.
Extra Credit: Photograph something growing in an ORGANIC garden."
I went to the nearest small patch of land a few blocks away from home, to photograph some vegetables grown there by senior citizens. One lady assured me all are organic, they don't use any fertilizer at all. Most of the senior citizens did gardening as a hobby and the vegetables are usually harvested for their consumption. The garden is too small to produce a big harvest, just something to show off the young generation about the grown food- which most of them think comes only from supermarket - and something for the seniors to while their time away.
Just a few corn plants, perhaps enough for one or two person to bring home to.
Young lady finger ( okra) , perfect for fish curry or assam fish, but I got to wait patiently for it to grow bigger and get permission to pluck it off. I think I'll just get them from the supermarket and leave these to the senior citizens.

Ok so, funny story:
I was driving in my friends prius and ran out of gas (yes it happens, don't believe those who tell you it doesn't LOL) Well I ended up stopping infront of a corn field in rural south GA. Of coarse I figured, well I don't have anything to do, so lets go pick corn. Looking back I could've gotten shot... LOL

The Ah Pek and Machik aka Ah Mu must be thinking this modern Ah Moi, just click, click, click, why not hold the changol, and do some digging. Jagong very easy to plant, just drop a seed and the plant grows about 3 or 4 jagongs.
It is good HDB allows people to dig and grow.
They won't let you take their faces?
Great shots!
