An open window of a traditional wooden house in the only 'kampung' ( little village) here in Singapore. Almost 80 % of our residents now live in high rise apartments . The old traditional wooden houses are all long gone, being replaced by apartment blocks .

Is this Kamping at Buangkok? I've always wondered how to get there..
Will seem like a great place to bring the kids on educational outing :)
I thought there is no more kampungs in Spore!
Jama, I have an award for you. This is my link

Oh, that is so sad about the houses! What a beautiful photo...it is so nice for the open theme!

Really pretty window!
beautiful--I love to look at older pieces of history. Great shot.
Nice shot, Jama.
It's all happening everywhere now, old traditional houses are being replaced by new, modern ones. I guess in the future we will only have pictures like yours to show our children (and the next generations) of how was life before.
Enjoy your weekend.

very cool shot, love the interpretation of this weeks theme. thanks for sharing
I like the old wooden houses much more then apartment blocks which look so sterile. The house in the picture looks homely and friendly. It is a shame that the old wooden houses are not preserved. I guess there are more and more people needing living space and it is the way up!
What a pity when the traditional windows have such charm.
A cool shot for Open Jama. I love the curtains.
Hope you are having a great day.

it still looks good!
love old styles. but i have a lot here in my own kampong. :)
Wow Jama 80% live in an apartment now? That is very cool to take a lot of photos of the old houses since sooner or later they will be gone. Happy weekend!
