Why walk when you have the segway!

The Segway is a self-propelled, two-wheeled scooter-like vehicle that can travel up to about 17 mph. Invented by entrepreneur Dean Kamen, the passenger moves the Segway by thinking forward and backward. Officially called the Segway HT (Human Transporter), the vehicle is powered by electric motor, and with the use of computer processors it mimics human equilibrium. Thanks to the use of gyroscopes and tilt sensors, when the passenger leans slightly forward, the Segway HT moves forward; when the passenger leans slightly backward, the scooter moves backward. It is said to use the same space as a pedestrian and can travel wherever a person can walk.
