Red lanterns during the Mid Autumn Festival, celebrated by the Chinese on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, which is in September or early October in the Gregorian calendar. It is a date that parallels the autumnal equinox of the solar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest and roundest.
It is a time to have the family together, eat a festive meal including mooncakes, and enjoy the moonlight. Children & adults carry paper lanterns and climb hills to get a good view of the full moon. They give thanks to the bright, silvery moon of the eighth lunar month.

Beautiful shot of the place, very colorful.
The red lanterns in a row are a beautiful sight. Where is this place?
The Chinese love lots of red for their festive celebrations. I ate some unique mooncakes this year.

BTW I am just reading a book starting in Singapoor in 1908 in a chinese noble family where one of the daughters met an American ! Very interesting description of the city and life at his time ! Now I arrived in 1924 !
