Being in an urbanized country of 699 km² and a population of 5 millions people with plenty of skyscrappers, I'm thankful for the abundance of natural pocket of beauty for us to enjoy, even though most of them are man-made.
Bukit Batok Park, which used to be a quarry but turned into a tranquil and peaceful place for the residents to enjoy.
Man-made Bottle Tree Park, a popular place to fish and relax the mind and body.
Grab a book or just immersed in the natural or man-made beauty and reflect on our daily life.
Life is too precious to be preoccupied with a stressful rat-race living, take a step backward and enjoy the wonders of nature around us .

Contrary to what most people say about Singapore being boring, there are so many places they haven't explore and there are so many activities to participate in each week.
Hi Jama,
You remind me of the MRT rides when they were announcing, passengers going to Bukit Batok, Bukit Gombak please disembark when I continue to Boon Lay. I even have my own pocket of green garden inside NTU.
what a relaxing spot for reading a book or blogging :)
lovely!
Parks are so important in city life! Looks like a lovely place to "breathe".
as usual, your photos are wonderful
Jama - beutiful shots, but an especially beautiful reminder of what to focus on!
what nice sentiments Jama. the last photo is fantastic!!
I think I'd feel extremely thankful to the city planners for providing such beautiful places in the midst of such a huge population! Water has such soothing qualities - love the use of the old quarry!
Your photos, as always, are wonderful!
I agree about taking a step back. Sometimes life is much too fast paced and every now and then, it's nice to find a serene place to just be........such as in your first photo. That is beautiful.
