Yellow Flower

Macro Flowers Saturday badge 4

Neomarica Longifolia: They are herbaceous perennial plants that propagate by way of a thick rhizome and new plantlets that develop from the stem where flowers once emerged. The plants grow erect, and have long slender lanceolate leaves from 30-160 cm long and 1-4 cm broad, depending on the species. They produce very fragrant flowers that last for a short period of time, often only 18 hours.

How beautiful, they look like a mix of orchids and irises.

I believe that these are commonly called yellow walking iris based on what you've said about them... a lovely photo and I agree a very short bloom period, are there many blooms in succession? L

Gorgeous! It's sad that they only last for such a short time.

If I was still in Singapore, I will give you a pot. The common name is Walking Iris. I give you a pot, you propagate it, have new plants, you give to your friends, I become your friend's friend. How wonderful is that?
