FMTSO: Macro in your town

I love taking macro shots and it's difficult just choosing a few to post here...

We've been having lots of rain nowadays...a walk in the park after rain is always so refreshing.
We had a freshly dug clams and it's a waste to just discard the pretty shells...

Pretty flowers are a favorite subject of mine.

A Monash butterfly drying it's wings..

Fern waiting to unleash it's beauty..

something old and rusty..

a very thick rope..

I have a desktop pencil shaarpener but purposely buy this type of sharpener just to photograph the pretty shaving..
While someone waited for the fish to bite, I took a macro shot...

Photos are taken not with a DSLR but just a prosumer Canon S5, I love it because it's able to take macro shots as close as 0 cm from the subject.

Wow, these are all superb macro shots. The first ones exquisite and delicate and the last ones with interesting focus on details. And they all make me long for a different time of year... ;)

Love the old and rusty - it takes a great eye to spot a photo in something like that.

I was counting on one of the good photographers, like you, to show me some good specimens of macros and that you did. The first is amazing. I know how they should look but my camera is not too sophisticated. But it was a great lesson trying to learn. Thanks JAMA

The reflections in the water drops you've captured so clearly is just stunning, Jama. The details on the shells and the butterfly, are also very lovely. Since Toronto is buried under layers of snow... you probably cannot imagine how good it feels to see a fern unravelling fronds! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents!

Great shots. I too love the water drops, but the shot of the fern, and the rusty latch probably reveal the most important part of the macro...depth of field. You've got to capture some aspect of variation in distance from the camera lens to get that macro effect. You are a master!
